Pallet racking installation
Adjustable pallet racking and everything built from it: double deep, narrow aisle, drive-in, shuttle, pallet flow and push-back. A few bays or a few thousand.
Adjustable pallet racking
The system most warehouses run on, and the one most often installed badly because it looks easy. Uprights out of plumb, beams not fully engaged, locking pins missing, anchors in cracked concrete. We have seen all of it on other people's work and we have been called in to put it right.
Our crews build APR to the manufacturer's assembly instructions and to the UK industry body's published code of practice, with plumb and straightness checked and recorded, every beam pinned, every anchor torqued. Narrow aisle and double deep get the extra attention their truck clearances need.
Drive-in and drive-through
High density storage where the truck drives into the rack. The rails that carry the pallets have to be level, parallel and at the right height along the whole lane depth, or the driver fights the rack every time. We set rails with instruments, not by eye, and we check the lane entry guides so trucks are protected from day one.
Shuttle racking
Semi-automated lanes where a radio shuttle carries the pallet into the rack. The shuttle runs on rails and the rails are only as good as the install. Lane squareness, rail level along the depth and rail gauge between the pair are what decide whether the shuttles work or spend their lives being reset. We install shuttle racking the way we install automation, surveyed and verified.
Pallet flow and push-back
Gravity does the work, which means the pitch has to be right. Too shallow and pallets stall; too steep and they arrive too fast for the brakes. We set roller lanes to the manufacturer's pitch, check every brake and separator, and test with loaded pallets before we leave. Push-back carts get the same treatment.
Dismantling, relocation and remedial work
Moving a warehouse, or inheriting racking somebody else put up? We dismantle, inspect, relocate and reinstall, and we fix installations that failed their annual rack inspection. Damaged uprights replaced, missing bracing fitted, anchors retested, load notices sorted.
