ASRS installation

Miniload, high bay unit-load, crane-served and shuttle-served automated storage. The racking is the machine's track; we install it so the machine runs.

Why automated racking is a different job

On conventional racking a few millimetres of lean is a note on a snag list. On a 30-metre crane aisle it is a stacker crane that trips its sensors, a commissioning engineer standing idle, and a programme that moves to the right. Automation does not tolerate what a forklift driver would not notice.

That is why we treat an ASRS install as a surveyed structure first and a racking job second. Datum set out with instruments. Floor levels mapped before the first upright goes up. Rails aligned and verified to the integrator's tolerances, which are usually tighter than FEM 10.2.02 asks for. And it is written down, every bay, so when the integrator asks for the records they exist.

What we have installed

  • Miniload systems with crane aisles and conveyor interfaces
  • High bay unit-load ASRS, both clad rack and inside a building, to 35 metres
  • Multi-level shuttle and OSR-type systems with lifts and rails at every level
  • Rail-guided and robotic picking systems where the rack is the robot's grid
  • 2D and 3D shuttle lanes with the parent-child rails that make them work

We install for the largest racking manufacturers in Europe, alongside the major automation integrators, and we are re-vetted by them every year. Specific projects and references are available once we are talking about a real job.

What the integrator gets

  • Survey records

Floor level survey, datum set-out, rail alignment and verification records, bay by bay. Yours at handover.

  • Trained for automation

Every installer on an ASRS job has been through our own fourteen-unit automated systems qualification. How it works.

  • Height capability

Advanced industrial climbing, MEWP and boom trained. Insured to 35 metres.

  • Interface discipline

We know where our structure meets the conveyor, the lift, the fire system and the crane, and we leave those interfaces ready, not in the way.

  • Programme reporting

Daily progress against the programme, so you know before the commissioning team arrives whether the rack will be ready.
